An ordinary seemingly meaningless existence can suddenly be changed by life...and death. The characters weave together the story of Bambara Walalla: The Whirlwind. The audience is left to wonder how such dramatic plot turns can happen in the life of one man, Podi Eka, as the story unfolds in desperate and unexpected circumstances.
At the films beginning we see young Podi Eka without an education, living with his Mother and Sister. His Sister is raped by his step-Father as his Mother listens from outside. Seventeen year old Podi kills his step Father and ends up spending his next seventeen years in prison.
The events of Podi's life change after his return to his village from Prison, leading him on an extraordinary journey. He tries to start a new life but his Mother's mental condition makes hard. After the tragic death of his mentally disturbed Mother, he lived only because he was born.
Podi Eka meets Mal, a man who keeps on counting the living and making coffins for the dead. Podi starts working for Mal, after Mal found him near death after having been attacked and left for dead in the gutter by relatives of his step Father.
Though his broken body heals, deeper wounds remain. Being an uneducated man, he finds it very hard to understand the society and Mal's way of live. They both are looking for pure love. Their lives are built around a bangle, a circle. Along the way Podi discovers the true meaning of love, responsibility and courage, though not in the way one would think.
